Exploring what restful creativity looks like.
What is BRIGA?
BRIGA (‘care’ in Croatian) is a project initiated by Notnow Collective, with partners Midlands Mencap and Moseley Road Baths, and supported by Birmingham City Council. BRIGA was geared towards those who identify as full-time carers.
The project was exploring what ‘restful creativity’ means. We wanted to bypass the phones and screens as a go-to way of ‘switching off’ and try to fill those sporadic moments of short relaxation with creative activities.
The project used photography, creative writing, movement, various techniques of visual arts and curating. We held 6 sessions at the Manager’s Flat of Moseley Road Baths.
